Hello!

I'm using Kunena forum on my Joomla site and I'm admin.

In my site I have some posts which are 5 years old or more - I'm trying to edit them.

After editing, site give me the answer:
"The message has been successfully edited."

BUT the post is still the same, it's NOT EDITED.

Can someone help me, why not? How could I do this?

Thnx and regards,

Sina

Please go in the backend to Kunena -> Tools and let recount the statistics. Then try again to edit.

Guys,

now I'm trying to resolve the problem with broken links, which are in my forum (old posts).

I'm admin and I can't edit old posts from my users.
When I try to do this I get this messages:

Notice: Cannot save message: Invalid email address!
Message: The message has been successfully edited.

It's really impossible to edit old posts in Kunena forum!?

Regards,
Bobsaap

Generally it should be possible.
Please go again in the backend to Kunena -> Tools and let recount the statistics.
Additional, synchronize your users. Mark this both options in this tool:
* Add user profiles to everyone
* Update user names in messages
Then try again to edit.

rich,
I did what you wrote, but everything is the same ...
I go to post from the year 2010, push the button Action > Edit and than edit it and push the button Submit.

After that I get this messages:
Notice: Cannot save message: Invalid email address!
Message: The message has been successfully edited.

And post is the same like before the editing ...

And one more thing ...
If I'm editing the post, which is 1 month old, I can edit it without any problems.

One more thing - is it possible to edit posts somewhere else?
Like in backend, data base, or ... and not in forum directly?

Code:
/* * Check the local address * We're a bit more conservative about what constitutes a "legal" address, that is, a-zA-Z0-9.!#$%&'*+/=?^_`{|}~- * The first and last character in local cannot be a period ('.') * Also, period should not appear 2 or more times consecutively */
You findt this in the /libraries/src/Mail/MailHelper.php line 128. I'm not sure but maybe it has to do with your problem.
I have no idea what it means:

We're a bit more conservative about what constitutes a "legal" address

In the backend it's not possible but in the database you can do it. You find the text passages in the table #__kunena_messages_text.
The easiest way to find the right message, if you enter at the search option of phpMyAdmin a short text passage of this certain post.
If you have more hits, choose the hit in #__kunena_messages_text and edit the message.
