Kunena 6.0.9.1 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.0.9.1 [K 6.0.9.1] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.0 and issues discovered during the development stages of K 6.0.

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Question Menu... I don't have a clue

I hope what I'm about to type y'all understand, because it's fairly difficult to explain. But I'm going to try.

I did a clean install of J!3.4.8 and eventually upgraded to 3.6.5 and then manually upgraded to 3.7.5.
On J!3.7.5 I was running Kunena 5.0.11

When you install Kunena it creates a menu, which I don't use by the way.

I created my own menu so when someone visits my site the url to the forum is: .com/community/forum
Since I have multiple languges also installed I have multiple menus as well.

One day I noticed that the sub-menu items like: Recent Topics, New Topic, No Replies, My Topics were kinda appearing & disappearing at random, & I was having url issues. Instead of my forum url always being or remaining: .com/community/forum it would change to .com/forum

It took some time, but i fixed the url problem and I realized that I needed to copy the sub-menu items to my various menus.
Once I did that everything worked, but whenever you moused over "Community Forum" in my menu a slide out would appear and you'd see the sub-menu items.

I found out that if I edited "Recent Topics" for example I could go to the Link Type tab and click no next to Display in Menu. Now the sub-menu items would no longer show in my menu and would still appear on the forum to the left of the profile picture above the breadcumbs.

When I tried to manually upgrade from J!3.7.5 to 3.8.0 things didn't go very smoothly.

So I moved all files into a new folder, created a new database and installed a full clean version of J!3.8.0 and installed Kunena 5.0.11. I went into the new database & deleted all of the kunena tables. I then "copied" the Kunena tables over from the J!3.7.5 database and afterwards upgraded to Kunena 5.0.14

I have a fairly large site, and I was under a time a crunch so I did not realize I had this problem until after I had all of my content, other extensions, mods, etc... already set up.

As I mentioned before, in every menu not only is there a link to the forum, but i also have the sub-menu items as well. Everything was recreated almost exactly as it had been on my J!3.7.5.

But there is a problem. The sub-menu items do NOT appear on the forum. I have dug through the .php files, quadruple checked the menu items, checked the database, and I'm sure I probably missed something, but I could not figure out why the items were not appearing.

Finally I tried changing No to Yes next to Display in Menu in the Link Type tab. It worked, the menu items were back on my new site.

ONE PROBLEM THOUGH, when a member mouses over "Community Forum" the slide out reappears showing the sub-menu items. If I re-hid the menu items they'll disappear off of the forum as well.

Is this a bug? Did I break something? Was the fact that they were appearing on the forum even though I hid the items back in J!3.7.5 a bug that got fixed somewhere between Kunena 5.0.11 and 5.0.14? Obviously I need these items on the forum, but I don't want them in my menu as well. Can someone please explain "preferably in plain english" what happened and their best guess as to what's happened since.

I'd appreciate it, cause I'd really like to re-hide those menu items without taking them off the forum.

Also can someone tell me if the latest version Kunena 5.1.2 is compatible with J!3.8.0. I do plan on upgrading to J!3.8.10 or whatever the version number will be, but first I need to upgrade a $120 software extension first.

Thanks for your time, & I hope that made some sense.
Danielle
