Since this site was created, thousands of questions have been posted
and answered about adapting
Kunena to suit many different styles and purposes for which people have installed the forum component. As much as we enjoy helping others who have installed and who have successfully used
Kunena on their websites, we feel that it is important to point out that the Kunena project does not derive any direct income from the advice that we offer.
There is no company behind
Kunena; everyone who contributes to
Kunena is a hobbyist, enthusiast or professional web developer who gives their time freely to this project - volunteers every one of us. Our hope is to make Kunena the most reliable, scalable, durable and robust forum component for Joomla that we can make it and to give people the best solution to meeting their forum needs. The forum is a self-help community-driven resource for users to help one another. Our job, in moderating the forum, is not necessarily to answer every question but, rather, to point people in the right direction where they can find the answers.
In nearly all cases, where people have asked for something to be done, people who use this forum expect that the advice they will be given will be given at no cost. In other words, people usually expect to be able to use this forum as a free consultancy service.
We have no intention to change that belief.
Kunena is an open-source software product that is available free of charge to anyone who wants to use it and people may adapt the product to suit their individual purposes in any way that does not contravene its
licensing terms
.
Having stated this position, people who ask questions relating to
specific custom needs, require assistance with their own
custom projects or suggest new ideas to the development team do so on their own terms. The forum moderators, developers and administrators are under no obligation to reply to any messages posted in this section.
The Kunena website exists only through the support of our
advertisers
. The Kunena website exists only through the generosity of those active members of the community who are prepared to help others.
People can help themselves in other ways, too. Please take the time to look at the
advertisements
posted on these pages because sometimes, in order to get your problem resolved, it is worth the expense of a few dollars! Remember that the people who are willing to help you also have to pay their own costs, too.
So, even though we continue to offer the services that we offer at this website, free of charge, people should be aware that if you are not prepared to offer something in order to get your problems sorted out then others are less likely to respond quickly to help you.
Cheers
