Question Faulty xpath parameter causes installation crash

Please look into the possibility of a null object being passed to the xpath() function, otherwise the installation terminates with this notice during the latter stages (see attachment).

Is this already a known and easily-corrected issue, or should I just give up and go back to 1.7 ?

By the way, "RC" is a little premature, don't you think? By your own admission you are expecting and warning against bugs, and you even recommend not to use the software for its normal, intended use! Well, that's what a Beta release indicates. ;)

We are currently using K 2.0.0 RC2 at this site. We're not experiencing the kinds of issues that some people have reported. That's why we have released a "release candidate" version to the public to obtain feedback on the kinds of problems that some people may experience depending on different configurations of Joomla, PHP, MySQl, webserver platform, etc.

Hello,

What are the steps to reproduce this issue ?

Well, I can tell you what steps I took:

Scenario: Latest Kunena already installed and operating correctly on latest Joomla.

1. Removed all Kunena menus (because I had read this might be a good idea);
2. Uninstalled Kunena system via Extension Manager : Uninstall
3. Installed K2.0 via Extension Manager : Upload

The aforementioned message appears midway through the installation.

Does the Kunena installer assume "/home/" paths, by any chance? Mine was recently changed to "/home1/," which has tripped up a few applications.

Check if you have old directory lurking in com_kunena/template, which is coming from Kunena 1.5 or otherwise a bad template.

Your issue can only be triggered with broken Kunena template, but thanks for the report -- we will fix it.

Can-you tell which kunena templates did-you have before installing Kunena 2.0 ?
