For all menu items on your site that relate to Kunena, remove those menu items and trash the menu. Then try the installation procedure again.

This may be a bug in the installation procedure that fails to work with some existing custom menu items that you may have created.

It would be nice to know which menu items cause that error. In Kunena backend there's Forum Tools >> Menu Manager. It's work in progress, but it should be able to display the issue.

I think I added a button that fixes broken menu items also into there. If you enable debug mode, you should be able to see the error (maybe even without).

This was the fix, albeit annoying as site structure is gone now. However, the main Kunena menu has disappeared. Any idea how to get it back?

Also the Avatars have disappeared.

I was not able to access the Kunena admin while the error was occurring - by the time I got 2.0 installed of course no errors were shown in the Kunena back-end Forum tools/menu manager

If you wish send me an email or private massage and I will give you admin access to explore the issue

You do not have a Kunena menu on either your production site or your test site. Please read How do I restore my Kunena menu?
