Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

Hi Everyone:

Even though my forum is set to Last Post First, after adding a new post to a topic, I'm seeing the topic flip to the opposite of this. I then see the very first post in the topic.

If I then close the topic and go back in, it becomes adjusted back to Last Post First. The temporary change is very confusing and appears to be a bug. Please advise.

Sincerely,
Howard

Can we see your configuration report (as you are always asked to include with any question posted in the support category) that confirms this information, please?

Depending on what information we discover from your configuration report, you may have discovered a software defect. If nothing else, you've discovered something that warrants further investigation.

This discussion concerns the configuration setting:

Forum configuration » Frontend » Look and Feel » Message Ordering = Oldest Post First | Newest Post First

As we all know, last-post-first is a personal preference setting - indeed, as far as my personal preference goes, I prefer always to start reading topics from the oldest post first until I read the end so that I fully understand the background before I jump into making an attempted response. But, as they say, "to each their own". Therefore, the global setting is always overridden by a user's personal preferences.

As far as K 2.0 is concerned, this isn't something that I've actually played with - I have been far too busy answering questions on the forum (following my personally-preferred message ordering style); however, while we are waiting for further information from you, maybe someone else has experienced the same issue in K 2.0.1 and also offer some insight and confirm what you have found?

Thank you for your report. I will point the development team to this topic for investigation. I also asked the testing team if anyone else had testing this feature; no-one seems to have tested this feature. Therefore, I do not have any advice that confirms whether or not this part of Kunena fails to work as expected. In the two weeks (or so) since K 2.0.0 was released (and K 2.0.1 after it), no-one else has reported a problem in this area. These facts are not very helpful.

It would be helpful if other people, who have used this feature, can verify the symptoms as freedomcoach has described them.

Hi!
Do not know if I understand the problem.
if so, also think it's a bug and reported it.

last post first

uncontrollable and tired

Also would like to correct this because users complain to me. ;(

P.S.

I prefer always to start reading topics from the oldest post first until I read the end so that I fully understand the background before

— I agree, but if you read every post to date, then it is not practical and begins to interfere.

This morning, I just clicked on the Thank You button on a post and it again seemed to flip the entire topic back to the beginning of the thread. Strange.
