I have also migrated Joomla from 1.5 to 2.5 and when I try to install Kunena it tells me that it already has admin menu....

It shows up in the backend of the Joomla site as being installed several times com_kunena and I cannot uninstall it..

suggestions?

It's a common problem with many badly-setup Joomla 1.6/1.7/2.5 websites: the problem is that you install a Joomla extension - any Joomla extension - and something goes wrong during the installation and the Joomla asset table contains multiple entries that have to be removed by hand. There are probably a number of topics at the Joomla forum that deal with "How do I delete an extension that was not properly installed?"

It would take a Joomla expert about 15 minutes to fix this for you if you gave that person superadministrator access to the site and access to the SQL database and, for the cost of that person's time (between $25 and $50) it may be worth it. On the other hand it may be just as easy to start with When all else fails, try this .
