Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Hi, and congratulations for this great component. :)

I'll be brief: my goal is to be able to create categories from frontend, and I know this isn't possible for Kunena so my thought is to create a component that display on my frontend personal admin panel (that manage, so far, my articles) a basic form to create my categories, so: Parent, Name, Alias, Status, Description & Subtitle. (other options can be set in backend if needed)
  • What I do know: How to create a form and insert data into the database, how to create a joomla component.
  • What I do not know: Which parts, tables are involved in the category creation process.
So my question is simple, can you help me understand how this thing works ?

Thanks in advance. :)

Open Source is a bit like Communism with charm of Maryline.

Hello,

You can start by read that : www.kunena.org/docs/Kunena_Framework

You don't need to creat query by hand, if you take a look in Kunena libraries there is something to create category

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.
