Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Question Uploading Avatar not working

Hello,

[strike]On our Forum we have two issues[/strike]. When trying to upload a custom avatar image going through the process and choosing one then hitting upload it does not seem to change the avatar. When I am in the backend as an administrator and view that User and click their Avatar I can view it that way but not when they post.
[strike]
A second issue. When adding on a users profile a linkedin profile. Clicking on that link sends the user to ' www.linkedin.com/in/username ' which is an incorrect link. Is there a way I can change that so it goes to the proper link?[/strike]

Please let me know if you need any further information or have any other questions.

G'day, ImaginationPlus, and welcome to Kunena.

We prefer that people use one topic to discuss one particular issue. For that reason I have struck out your second question. You may like to search the forum for topics that related to that second question or start a new topic if you do not find the information that you are looking for. To be quite honest with you, I do not know anything about how to use LinkedIn with Kunena but perhaps someone else might know.

As far as your first question is concerned, we've also discussed many times about these kinds of "avatar not working" issues and you may find information on the forum that assists you. Please keep in the back of your mind that this forum is a self-help resource for the benefit of users helping one another. Our job as forum moderators is not necessarily to answer ever question asked but, rather, to point people to where they may find the answers for themselves (if those answers exist). With, perhaps, several thousand topics relating to avatar "problems", the task we (as moderators) face is how much time we can spend searching the forum for you to find the specific information that you may be looking for. Please keep this in mind.

Also keep in mind that each person's situation may be difficult and there are many factors that have to be considered. For example, webhosting software (Apache, for instance), PHP, folder/file permissions, all of these may influence the way your site (and Kunena operating within it) may behave. Your configuration settings may provide you (and us) with several clues as to what may be going on but the best advice I can give you is to search the forum for "avatar problems" in the subject to see if there's something that you can use.

To be honest with you, without more information about the situation you're in, I cannot give you more specific help at this time.
