Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

G'day, maorcg, and welcome to Kunena.

According to the release notes for K 2.0.3 and K 2.0 Technical Requirements , K 2.0.3 should work with PHP 5.3. The development team has not fully tested K 2.0.3 with all versions of PHP and there are a number of versions of PHP that have problems. We know, for example, that some versions of PHP 5.4 are defective.

Having said this, this website uses one of the latest versions of PHP 5.3 that is available and we are not experiencing any problems running K 2.0.3 here. Even on my own websites, where I am using PHP 5.3, I do not have any problems like the one you mentioned.

I am not sure if the message "Content Encoding Error: The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression" is related to PHP or whether it's related to an extra piece of compression software that you've installed on your website. Perhaps if you knew more about your K 2.0.3 website (your configuration report is a good start) we may know more.

The release notes and the technical requirements articles that I mentioned above state what you need. Whether or not your webhosting provider has made other changes or whether you have installed other software that conflicts with Joomla/Kunena, that's a more difficult issue for anyone to advise you about.

From the sounds of things, Bluehost is not giving you the service that you need and you may be better advised to look at other webhosting solutions. Good luck.

Hi and Thank you For the help,

i dont use in my site in any compression or kunena plugin
the wired thing is that after i change to php 5.3 or 5.3 from 5.2 even the 1.7. kunena stop from working and kunena 2.0.0 wont work at all with any of the php on my server and i get the same msg compression error.

Technical Requirements:
PHP 5.2.4+ or 5.3.0+ B)
MySQL 5.0.3+ or 5.1.0+ or 5.5.0+ B)
Joomla 1.5.26+ or 2.5.4+ B)
--
max_execution_time >= 30 B)
memory_limit >= 16M i use 60 (php 5.2) B)
safe_mode = off B)
upload_max_filesize >= 3M 10m B)

so i think i have all the Requirements
there is any host company that you know that work good with kunena ?

or i can give you account to my joomla site and the server to test bluehost with kunena 2

thank for the help
