Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

G'day, Jack, and welcome to Kunena.

I have renamed your topic to help you and others who have unsuccessfully searched for the answer to this question that has been asked several hundred times here.

The key to understanding how SEF URLs work lies in reading Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) .

URLs in Joomla are derived from the menu item name. Therefore, if you have a menu structure that looks like this:

  • /mainmenu
    • kunena
      • index
your URLs will be " www.sitename.org/kunena/index "

If, on the other hand, your menu structure looks like this:

  • /mainmenu
    • forum
      • index
your URLs will be " www.sitename.org/forum/index "

When you first install K 2.0 your menu will be created for you (as in the second case illustrated above) but, if you change your Joomla menu then, obviously, you will change the SEF URLs that are derived from your menu structure. I hope this helps explain how URLs are generated by Joomla.
