Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

G'day, napster, and welcome to Kunena.

Yes, I guess it's possible to design your own custom template to add a New Topic button/function if you want to do this. I would also guess that this is not something that a novice user would want to do on their own and it may be better to ask for professional help (i.e. pay someone else to do this for you).

We have not found a need for this kind of feature/function here at www.kunena.org .

That's why Joomla official forum uses PHPBB not Kunena. Think!!! Think as user or for user perspective for better quality. Kunena is the most popular extension of joomla but Joomla official website not uses it !!!!

Thanks

I suppose I should have written (instead of what I was quoted as having written): I have personally not found need for this kind of feature/function in any forum I have ever used, including the forum at www.kunena.org . What happens in other websites or forums happens in other websites/forums. What people choose to use differently is matter of personal choice. B)

However, let us return from this delightful off-topic that kmplr has entertained us with. The answer to the original question is still the same: if people want the New Topic button appear in some other places where this button does not currently appear then the solution is to design a custom template that displays this feature/function wherever people would like it.

If someone has a specific solution - a custom template that already meets the needs of napster35 - then that is good.
