Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Question Overriding User Settings

Hi,

Is there a setting where I (as the site owner) can go into the back end of the Kunena config and be able to alter the users details, avatars, etc. after they have created them?

Some of them ask me to do so but I can't seem to do it without asking for their password. Thats another thing, can I reset/change passwords for them as well?

Thank you in advance

G'day, dschwenk, and welcome to Kunena.

There is not a lot you can do to change the avatar or other details in another user's profile. It has never been possible for someone to change another user's profile. The only things that an administrator can do is to remove current details or to ask the specific user to change the information themselves.

Your second questio is a much easier to answer. You can reset a user's password using the Joomla User Manager feature.

Thank you for answering my questions. However, I do not see a place in order to change the users password in the User Manager (please see screenshot). Am I missing an option on my version.

Also, would you recommend any Kunena updates or add-ons to improve the software?

Again, thank you

You can change another user's password if you use the Joomla User Manager. The normal Joomla User Manager, nothing to do with Kunena. :)
