Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

I have installed Kunena and basically it is fantastic however I have one problem.

When an guest clicks the New Topic tab they get an error message "You do not have permissions to start a new topic! ".

Is it possible to change this behaviour so that they are directed to the page to create a new user account, or at least to change the message to say please register so you can post in this forum.

Two other suggestions instead:

(1) set the permissions on the menu item so that it only appears when someone is logged in - this is the default behaviour of the standard Kunena menu which means you have changed it; or

(2) unpublished the menu item, like we've done here at K.org. ;)
