The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.1 [K 7.0.1] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

You need to create 2 gif images for any category and place them in folder
/JOOMLA root / media / kunena / category_images/

with and height of images should be 32px x 32px

Names of images must be:

66_on.gif
66_off.gif

where 66 is category ID.

66_on.gif will display when new posts are present in this category
66_off.gif will display in all other case.

for other category with ID 128

names of images should be

128_on.gif
128_off.gif

etc...

For subcategories names of images are:

ID_on_childsmall.gif
ID_off_childsmall.gif

Hope this helps.

TKtemp is right. The procedure in K 2.0 is the same as the procedure used in K 1.7 .

The procedure is documented in Category icons in the Wiki.

Hi,

I would like to be able to use the facility of category image path. I created a folder "kunena/category_images" as described in the tool-tip for Kunena configuration, and populated it with the appropriate images. Now do I now link individual images in the folder with the corresponding category?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

you do not need to create any folder, it is created automatically on installation of Kunena.

Read Here how to use it
