Kunena 6.3.0 released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.0 [K 6.3.0] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Hi,
I just feel a little stupid, because I think I already did this one time long ago ;)
I would like to hide the sub-categories on the main page of my board, like it's done here on this board. How Can I get it done?

kind regards
me.lina

I'm not sure what "special" things we've done here. We just use the standard K 2.0 Blue Eagle template. How do things appear on your forum? Your configuration report may help us better.

Mh I think a Screenshot would help me to explain:

This is one category with it's sub-categories at my board:

And this is one category with it's sub-categories at your board:

I think it's a very easy problem, which can be solved in the backend, but I can't find the right menu to change it.

if you still need the report I would like to send it to you via PM, because I don't want this to be public.

The image you displayed from your forum, looks like it is the index of one category. The example you used of this site is based on the index of all categories in the whole forum. Therefore, I don't quite understand what is the problem.

(1) There is no PM facility on this site;
(2) Even if there was a PM facility on this site, I would not be able to read your configuration report - the report contains BBcode that only works in the context of the forum; and
(3) That's not the way we operate. Please read the FAQs menu item above for more on this point.

I don't really know what you mean. It's just because my board is a "secret" place for people and their problems. I posted the report first (I know it's a BBcode) and I've seen, that everybody who looks in this thread here could see nearly everything (the categories etc.) of my board and I can't do this would destroy the trust of my users.

The Image from my forum is of one category and it's subcategories, like this it's for every category:

Category 1
-sub-category 1
-sub-category 2
-sub-category 3
....
Category 2
-sub-category 1
-sub-category 2
-sub-category 3
....
Category 3
-sub-category 1
-sub-category 2
-sub-category 3
....

but I don't want it to be shown like that. When I look at the main page of my forum I just want to see the main categories:

category 1
category 2
category 3

and if I click now on e.g. category 1 I would like to see its sub-categories. Hope that's better understandable.

This is a community-driven self-help resource. That means that there is information here, available, if you search for it. If the information is not here then you may ask questions and we will do what we can, within the limits of our time, to answer those questions. Unique problems, however, may require unique solutions and in certain circumstances, issues that must remain totally confidential may require personal, private consultation with a specialist; private consultations are not free. We respect your choice to not accept these terms or the conditions stated in What information should I include when I ask for help (including how to post my configuration report)? .

You are not using a standard Kunena template and that may be a factor involved in your case. Have you tried using the K 2.0 Blue Eagle template? Does this solve your problem? If you want your forum to look like the forum here at this site, use the K 2.0 Blue Eagle template ... at least, give it a try.

yes I've already tried this. I just can't find the right menu to switch to the other view of the categories, like I described.

It's more than likely that you were able to hide your sub-categories, due to a a kunena template setting. If you're using a different template now, that could be the reason. If your kunena template isn't updated to match the new kunena, the settings might not work, or might not show up in the back-end.

i still think we're not talking about the same thing. but nevertheless I can't post this in a puplic forum, I'm sorry.
My kunena-version is up to date and like I said: I've already tried it with the default template.
Over one year ago I made the forum and that time the categories were like I would like them to be right now. Somehow I changed that very easy in the backend and now I would like to change it back, but I can't find this option anymore.
