Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Question Creating new topic as guest breaks Rockettheme Menu

Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. Currently when adding a new topic as a guest, breaks the rocket theme menu on that page. It doesn't do this when someone is logged in.. only as a guest. Seems as the java script gets disrupted, but this is the only area it does it in.

Here's the page:

How - in what way and where - specifically, which part of the page - is the "Rockettheme Menu" broken?

Interesting template. Have you discussed this issue with the developers of that template? Is this a template that its developers have assures you will work with K 2.0.2?

The page is bringing up this error:
TypeError: document.id("kanynomous-check") is null

Which is this line:
document.id('kanynomous-check').setStyle('display','none');

I'm not sure if that's the reason, but like I said when POSTING as a GUEST the PAGE that you WRITE a NEW POST on, it breaks the java script of the Rockettheme menu. It doesn't do this on any other page of the forum, or site. It does not happen when starting a new topic while logged in, or replying to posts either logged in or posting as a guest.

That link I gave in the opening post.. if you go there and hover over the main rockettheme menu, you can see the JS is not functioning, probably due to a conflict.

Can you show us a screenshot that displays, clearly on the browser page, where we can see this error? I don't see the error when I visited your website with Firefox 15.0.1.

Interesting spelling - kanynonmous-check - I would have expected kanonymous-check. I wonder who designed it that way? I cannot find a reference to this name in the standard Kunena Javascript libraries

I didn't post "kanynonmous-check." You can see it with web developer tools. It doesn't just pop up on the website.

In any case, I'll just go back to phpbb until all these bugs (this and the menu linking bug) gets fixed. Hopefully within a year.

This does not look like a PHP error. This looks like a Javascript error to me. As I wrote, the message you posted contained the text "kanynonmous-check" but I do not know where this comes from in the standard Kunena Javascript libraries. This may be from the template you are using.

*** Topic moved to K 2.0 General Questions because there it does not meet the critera set out in the notice contained in the Please Read This First notice in the Kunena 2.0 Support (reporting defects) category ***
