Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Also, I should point out, the text in the template description from within the template editor in the backend says:

"Warning: Blue Eagle is DEPRECATED and it is lacking some of the new features. Because of this you should consider moving to Kunena 2.0 template."

This is where I got the impression that new features were missing.

Can you clarify what this means?

Yes, this means that some of the newer features of K 2.0 that utilise HTML5 and CSS 3 are not implemented in the Blue Eagle template. This does not mean that you cannot use K 2.0 as a solution for your web-based discussion forum needs.

That makes sense.

Can you enumerate which features those are? I'm not opposed to hacking out the HTML5 necessary myself to use them if we're talking more than a couple weeks before a 2.0 template that implements them will be available.

Not at this time, I cannot. However, because Kunena is publicly-available, open source you can go to the GitHUb and download the Mirage template (as a work-in-progress, of course) and experiment to your heart's content.

This text is in error and will be corrected in a later version of Kunena.
