Greetings to the great Kunena developers and Community!

There is one annoying thing that I've found when started to work with Kunena. When users changing their profile, any field of it (avatar, date of birth, gender, you name it) the user group is immediately changes to "Registered". I am using Joomla 2.5.7 and Kunena 2.0.2. Please point me where I am doing wrong things.

Here is the Kunena report:

G'day, sirkirya, welcome to Kunena and thank you for your very interesting question.

What is the user group that users were in before they change their profile? Can you explain more how this is a problem?

I have not heard of this problem before. Does this problem occur if you use the standard Blue Eagle template? Perhaps this is a problem caused by the template you are using and, perhaps, it's something that you need to discuss with the developer of that template?

Thank you for quick response, sozzled!

Actually, user can be any group. I've tried "Administrator","Editor", even "Super User".. No matter what group it is belongs to, the result is the same - when profile changed in Kunena, user group appears "Registered". It is true for all users except the one that was created when Joomla were installed - that Super User doesn't change his group no matter what fields I am editing in his Kunena profile.
Today I've set the Blue Eagle theme and have the same result again. Group was changed to "Registered" after I've made some changes in user's profile.

If you need any additional information, I'll provide it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your help!

When you say that the user group is changed, have you checked the Joomla User Manager to see if the account settings have indeed changed?

Sure, that is exactly where I am checking that change.

Also, I've tried something and the result surprised me. I've start a new user registration by Kunena's "Registration" link. The mail was sent to my mailbox. Then I've checked the Joomla's User Manager, found there new unauthorized user, and delete him. Then I've clicked the link in my mail, and the user was created back again in Joomla's User Manager. I am not sure if it helps to understand that problem, but that is an interesting case anyway ^_^

Thank you for your help!

Sounds to me like you've got some problems with your Joomla. Kunena should not do these things. Have you changed any Joomla ACL permissions for the Kunena component?

Please remember the point made in How do I register new users to my website and where should they login to use my website? : Kunena is not responsible for user registration (or login).

I am sure that I haven't change any ACL permissions for the Kunena component. I am going to read article you've pointed me to, and think again about it. You are a great help, sozzled!

I've found my mistake. I've somehow disabled Joomla's User - Profile module. When I've put it on again, my problem was gone.

Again, thank you, sozzled!

I've done some more experiments, and that what I've figured out for now. If I am going to the Joomla's User-Profile plugin settings and click Save (even if I haven't change anything) the users start loosing their group when they're changing their profile.
