The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Topics that are moved into this category are generally considered to be closed. Users may want to add additional information but these topics should not be resurrected in order to discuss new problems or unrelated matters.

Thanks- I loaded the page with the default atomic template, and had the same issue, but I did also get a message saying "You do not have permissions to start a new topic!".

I got this when logged in as both the super admin and the general site member.

That explains why you the form does not show up. This is controlled by the Permissions tab in the category where you want to start a new topic. You've probably set the permissions to Nobody (can start a new topic).

Thanks- I went into the permissions tab for my only published category, but it only allows me to set access levels. The access levels are fine- the right users can see the right menu items. But where would I set the permissions for the category to allow users to create?

I am assuming the following things:

(1) You "played" with Joomla ACL groups - big mistake if you do not know what you are doing
(2) You have removed the example section and topic created for you when you installed K 2.0.2 - big mistake if you have not properly tested that you can post a message using the example category
(3) You probably have not read Sections, Categories, sub-Categories (Part 1) - not very wise if you want to apply custom settings to your own categories.
(4) You have published the category.

So I do not know, for sure, what you've done.

Can we see screenshots of any one category exhibiting the problem, please. Further, your updated configuration report on the (properly hosted) website, would also help. Thank you.

Ok- I've uploaded a live version- www.cctestserver.com/asbc/index.php/kunena .

I'm able to create a new section and category, and set the access levels. I've gone back to simply using the registered user group (As is the default).

The "New Topic" buttons that appear when you click an existing category or topic work fine. The issue is with the "New Topic" link in the main Kunena menu.

I've also applied the Atomic template to discount any custom template issues.

Here is the updated config report:

It all works. I trashed and rebuilt your Kunena menu. Using a standard Kunena menu and it all works.

I also made one small change to the arrangement of your ACL groups but, for the most part, this all looks OK to me.
