I have 2 different topics.

On one topic, I replied "Access granted", saved the reply, and locked the topic.

On the next topic, I went to reply with "Access granted" however, when I tell it to save, it tells me something like "Duplicate message ignored"

Seems strange that the forum system would consider different messages, even with the same text, but especially so in different topics, to be considered "duplicate"

using Joomla 2.5.x and Kunena 2.0.1

It's an anti-flooding technique. You cannot post exactly the same text, one message after another in the same login session, regardless of whether the messages are posted in the same topic or different topics. Change one character or logout and login again, or post something different between these two messages, and you'll be all right.

I hope this helps. :)

As I explained earlier in this topic, the feature is designed to be used to stop "forum flooding" and it is intended to be used where someone tries to post the same message many times, one after another, in the same topic. But there is an anomaly in K 2.0 where this technique also applies to someone posting the same message text in different topics.

No, you cannot turn off this feature. Perhaps this is unfortunate but that's the way the system currently behaves.
