Merged [Resolved] Fatal Error: Access to undeclared static property

Ok its on a unix system. I have it installed in the root directory

ok using putty i ssh into the file and changed the line of code as above and now i get the same error message

Fatal Error: Access to undeclared static property: KunenaAccessJoomla16::$viewLevels in components/com_kunena/libraries/integration/joomla16/access.php on line 127

any suggestions on what to do now?

You need to edit above file and change line 19 by adding "static" into it:

protected static $viewLevels = false;

ok i solved it. After talking to my isp i got them to set me as the user to give permissions. I changed the line of code and that solved the problem

I don't know if this is a case of I have the same problem ... but, that's right: you are not allowed to post messages into a section. You can only post messages into a category.

This is explained in Sections, Categories, sub-categories (Part 1) .

Yeah I added few categories under Main Forum..and its working fine..registered users are able to post their comment.
Does that mean everytime Admin has to add categories and Registered users cant add the topics of their own ??
