There are 3 things I'd like to know if it's possible to change. If not, that's fine but just looking for some help on this :)

1. The time a previous post was posted shows as, for example, "1 Month, 3 Weeks ago". Is there a way to change this to the exact date instead (January 7th, in the above example)

2. The total forum post count - it's an ongoing count, so a thread would show, for example, "37, 40, 43, 48,..." as these would be the post counts in the overall forum. Is there a way to change this so that each thread starts at 1 instead?

3. And, one last thing - is it possible to make threads where post count is ignored (say, "chat" threads)? Or maybe make a category where post counts are ignored? What I mean is, that each user's post count would not increase in one of these situations. This is to prevent abuse from users who might post repeatedly in a section to try and boost their post count for whatever reason.

4 (PS). Related to 3, somewhat. Is it possible to make it where new users can't start a thread until their post count has reached a certain number? (this one is more out of curiosity than anything, as I don't see that I'll really be using this in my forum but just in case)

I've been a long time member on a forum that uses vBulletin and I've just grown accustomed to seeing these things. None of them are really a huge deal, I suppose, but it's more a personal preference if these were possible somehow. The dates and post count really interest me the most if it's possible to change them as I kind of just prefer a more precise date format and IMO resetting the counts for each thread looks cleaner

Looking forward to your responses! :)
-Josh

EDIT: Got to thinking - will there be a poll implemented in Kunena? I felt that was one of the biggest things missing in Fireboard also. Otherwise, Kunena seems like an excellent forum solution but a poll seems pretty important imo

And anyone can help :). Even if you can't answer all the questions or the answers are simply "not possible" that's fine. Just looking for a bit of input on these!

1. I think that somewhere in this forum is answer to your question. Does anyone remember where it was?

2. Those are not post counts, they are IDs for your posts. But as the post ids are not used anywhere anymore, changing them can be a good idea (at least together with a configuration option).

3. For threads I don't think this is feasible, but for cats, yes. Maybe at some point in the future.

4. Similar suggestions have come before, too. No plans of implementing this have been made. Maybe you should add this one to UserVoice?

5. Polls: as polls is one of our most wanted features, they will be implemented soon.

Thanks a lot for all your great answers - I appreciate it :)

I'll look to see if I can find the fix/change for my first question. Any ideas what I should look for? Date format seems to come up with a wide variety or topics (and not quite what I'm looking for). The others I'll just be patient about than :)

May I ask how to add a suggestion to UserVoice? (sorry as I haven't done this before). I'm more than willing to, if I knew how :). I looked at the site and I'd assume you all may have an account there or something? Not sure how it works exactly

I appreciate what you all have done with Kunena, it's quite an active development and I like that you all really listen to the users. This was my favorite thing about Agora (I used it a few months back now), as their developers are very open to ideas. This will help Kunena grow even more quickly for sure

I also like that Kunena is based on some mature code - so tweaks need to be made but not necessarily a whole re-write. Should save some time I'd imagine :)

Just some thoughts on the Kunena project. So far, I'm really impressed

Found how to change the time posted from the estimated time to exact time!

Here's the post for those who are interested: www.kunena.com/forum?func=view&catid=4&id=1340#1594

And, in that post, if you follow the link to the German how-to you should also be able to see how to change the actual date format :). Say from Y/m/d to m/d/Y

Quite a bit happier now! haha :)

Thanks for your help and guidance, Matias!

Uservoice: search idea. If you cannot find it, make a new one from the search result page.

It's easy to be open to new ideas, but implementing them may be harder -- at least if there are hundreds of other things to do. That said, we'd love to have more active people working on Kunena -- answering messages in our forum, doing minor tweaks, designing new features/themes etc..

I'd love to help, especially if it'll help further the development of Kunena, but I'm unsure how I might be able to myself. I'm still fairly new to Joomla, but am comfortable editing files just to see the outcome. Otherwise, I'm not too familiar with the ins-and-outs of Joomla and implementing new features and themes (atleast now) I'm unsure how to do - but willing to learn

If someone helped me learn how to do some of this (or something) than I'd be willing to help. Theming I may be able to do - I like editing CSS :)
