I've recently noticed that videos stored in images/videos no longer work when embedded in Kunena posts. They certainly did work in the past, but I'm not sure how recently - possibly they have not worked since moving to Joomla4, but I think it was probably more recent than that.

I use the format {mp4}video_name{/mp4}.

I've tried disabling autolink urls, but that has made no difference.

Kunena still plays YouTube and Vimeo videos.

May be because your Kunena template is not up to date.
Latest Kay template version is 6.2.7!
Do you insert YouTube video's with YouTube embed link or with allvideos?

To answer the second question first, you've raised a good point. Now I think about it, I don't use AllVideos to embed YouTube, YouTube embeds are handled by Kunena itself, so it's completely irrelevant to the question in hand.

To answer the first point, I do need to update the 3rd party Kunena template, but to test whether that was the problem or not I switched to Aurelia and it didn't fix the problem.

When embedding local videos in Joomla articles I switched from using AllVideos to using JCE. So I've experimented just now with removing Kunena from the list of components in which JCE can embed video, but it hasn't made any difference. In any case, does JCE actually affect Kunena at all?

It also works without this plugin. Go to the Kunena configuration -> ‘Uploads’ tab and enter mp4 under ‘Allowed file types’. Then you can upload the video like an image and insert it into the post.

Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!

I suppose it is an error in Alvideos plugin. Just checked with content plugin from RegularLabs (Tabs and Accordions) and that works.
