FYI, I tested changing a Kunena user profile that had an empty signature and the changes I made were successful. What could be an issue is that the signature is not truly empty (i.e. NULL) but that it contains spaces or other non-printable characters.

@sozzled Behavior could be different between Joomla versions although, especially if the library is different and is expecting a specific behavior or piece of markup.

True, the behaviour may be different between different versions of Joomla - although I conducted my test on J! 3.2.1 (the same as MarT2) - but I have a suspicion that the cause may be related to the Shape5.com template which (as we all know) has notoriously been responsible as the reason behind many odd behaviours with Kunena over the past couple of years.

I also tested the case where a changed their profile to add a signature, and then I edited the profile again and remove the signature and saved it. Again, no problem. I don't know the reason in MarT2's case but, as far as I can tell, it is not a required field to have a non-empty signature in order to make changes to it unless, perhaps, there's something strange in the underlying database table that does not permit NULL values?

Hi,

I was investigating about the problem. When the signature field is empty, it highlights in red, and is not possible save the changes in the profile.

I downloaded a backup of the server, and restored it in a local server to make a series of test. Finally, I know that the S5 Register Module, it's in conflict with the Kunena profile page. If I disable the S5 register module, it's possible save the change in the profile if the signature field is empty.

I doesn't know the way to repair it, and I disable temporally the S5 Register module for the Kunena profile page. Now, there aren't problems except users can't register if they are in the profile page.

Do you know if it's possible to fix the conflicts between kunena and s5 Regiuster module?

Thanks a lot!
