Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Topics contains old discussions (generally more than one year ago or based on circumstances that subsequently changed) or topics resolved in other ways. Topics moved into this category are closed from further discussion.

Question How will Kunena handle Joomla 1.6 (ACL)?

Im just wondering, if there have been any considerations of the discussed Joomla 1.6 ( developer.joomla.org )

I saw this old article, and became aware of (at least) one fancy new feature; The ACL:
www.jfoobar.org/blog/44-first-look-at-joomla-16-acl.html

It looks to me like Kunena could gain some popularity with eventhooks along with the 'new' ACL (and some (easier/actual?) template system)?

Just wondering .. This might have been discussed earlier, so dev's, no need for comprehensive articles in this matter. ;)

Best regards

I'm sure you will get a better reply to your question, soon, but in the meantime I thought I would share with you what little I understand.

This topic has been discussed at this website (here is just one example: Private Forum Access Control and Groups ). So, you can see, the idea has been in the pipeline for a long time! :)

My understanding is that Kunena 1.6 will be Joomla 1.6-"ready", that is, K 1.6 will be able to use the new ACL features that J! 1.6 will deliver. As you probably know, J! 1.6 has been in the melting pot for nearly 12 months. J! 1.6 Alpha 2 has only just been released, so it's anyone's guess when a stable version will be made available. It's my guess (and it's only a guess) that K 1.6 will come out around the same time.

AS I said, I'm sure the developers will have a much more succinct and better explanation than what I've just written. Cheers :)

Good info. You seem to be very familiar with the overall roadmap of Kunena ;)

I will await more info if a dev. should happen to come by.

(Btw, the templates seems to be separated out of the core logic. Wonderfull!! (Bug #19448; Move code out of template)) :woohoo:

Hello,

K1.6.0 is just k1.5.9 with some news features and some bug fixes.

It's K2.0 will be manage J1.6! ACL and becasue it use MVC it will totally compliant with J1.5!/J.16!.

For the management of ACL in K2.0, nothing is decided yet.

I don't know if you talk about K1.6 or K2.0, but now all devs are working on K1.6 for release it as soon as possible.

For K2.0 nothing is decided, so i advise you to read time to time the twitter : twitter.com/kunena
