The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Kunena 1.6 doesn't manage ACL, because Joomla! 1.6 is not here yet or in beta to start working with it. Kunena 1.6 will be released as soon as possible.
You can upgrade to K1.6 from K1.5 or K1.0 without issues or even form FB 1.0.5.

I'm currently working to get Kunena 1.6 to work in J1.6 -- it could not be installed into J1.6 few weeks ago because of a bug in Joomla installer. Now most of it is running, but there are still some serious bugs/incomplete features in both Joomla 1.6 and Kunena 1.6 which prevent it from being used in a live site. For example admin menu item for Kunena is often missing because of a bug in Joomla and editing profile does not work because of the underlaying changes in J1.6.
Full ACL support isn't implemented yet, as J1.6 has been moving target and changing too fast before beta release. Now that pace has slown down, it will be easier to build on it. But as we want to release K1.6 Alpha release ASAP (J1.6 has already delayed it for a few weeks), we will postpone full ACL implementation to the next release.
I was just wondering if there is any news on the Joomla 1.6 ACL - Kunena 1.6 development? I see Joomla recently released RC 1.6 and is planning for a stable verion mid-January.
