Important "Fair use" advertising policy

From time to time we see messages posted on this forum that contain links to other sites or services. These links may be embedded in the body of the message or may be contained in the user's signature.

The practice has always been that, as long as these links relate in a direct way to the purposes of this forum (helping people to help one another with Kunena), it's acceptable to allow such links to appear on the forum. The Kunena team does not have the resources to verify any claims that external links will address the concerns of this community. The Kunena team does not endorse any such claims, either.

Links to websites that have nothing in common with Kunena may be considered to be spam and accounts that undertake this kind of misconduct will be banned from the site.

While we allow links to external websites on this forum, we remind people that there's a difference between fair use of links to external sites and advertising for the sake of advertising (irrespective of whether those sites or services are free to use or commercial sites). Abuse of this "fair use" policy may result in the user accounts being banned from using the forum and any (or all) messages being deleted.

I hope this clears up an confusion that people may have.
