Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Question Extended user profile: are community tools really necessary?

As expected, my users (motorbike users) are enjoying so much Kunena 1.6.3 (1.6.4 soon) that now they come out with new request: "may we have a personal place where we can post info about us? (like photos of the bike, of ourselfs, comments on the bike, etc.)"
So seems that Kunena has got a great success! Compliments to the authors and to the moderators. But now I'm in trouble... to satisfy this bad guys I see a lot of work for me!
As I see, there are two alternatives to get an "extended profile":
1) Jomsocial (commercial tool);
2) CommunityBuilder (free tool).
They are both very sophisticated tools and I'm not sure that users need so many features... More than this, I don't want to spend nights and nights in configurating them.
There is no more simpler alternative to what above that could run together with Kunena whithout problems? I mean... maybe a simple "personal page" is enough for them... any idea?

Yes, I think both tools will work fine. But... it's like to shot a little bird with a big 20-inches caliber battleship cannon! eheheheh

This is a really good question and thank you for asking it.my users ... [have a] new request: "may we have a personal place where we can post info about us? (like photos ... comments ... etc.)"
I had a similar situation a couple of years ago and I found a solution using Kunena. The solution in my case was to create a new section of the forum called "Spaces" with one category for each member who wanted to create his/her own "space". The member then was assigned as a moderator for that category. Further, only registered users could access these categories.
It takes a little bit of work to set this up but it's not really a lot of work. As it turned out, I had a very small number of people who actually wanted to make use of this feature and so the administrative overhead was quite low.
That's one idea FWIW.

mmmmhhh... my first reaction to your post was "Uh! this a terrible solution", but... thinking about it.. is not so terrible at the end.sozzled wrote: That's one idea FWIW.
The only big difficult is that you must manually create such "space" for any new user. This solution works for few user, but when you have hundreds.... there is no way to automatize it... mmmh...
Anyway, thanks for your volcanic fantasy! (as italians says)

Myjspace allows to see a list of all "user pages", searching across it and displaying it when a user in the list is selected.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to visually "integrate" it in the forum-layout...
I mean... I would like to display the module inside a new kunena tab named, for example, "User pages", but I dont' know if this can be done...
