Question How do I only see first post in Latest Module?

Hello, I am new here.
I only want the first post of each topic to show up on the latest module. Is there an option somewhere? I've looked everywhere. Or is there some code I can mess with ? Thanks for your help!

Let me see if I understand this question properly.

You have the "latest posts" module which, of course, shows the latest posts. In other words, the module shows the the most recent n posts that are on your forum. Just as long as we both understand the purpose of the "latest posts" module.

You want the "latest posts" module to show the first message posted. But, what happens if there is a reply to that message. Do you want to see the first message again, each time that the topic is updated? Or do you only ever want to see the first message written and ignore all the latest posts after that?

There is a RSS option that allows you to see only the first message posted in a topic. Maybe that would work better for you.

yes, I only want to see the first topic. i will be using this module as an announcements area that the public can see. I did have a look at the rss option but I did not realize that it allowed only the first post to be presented. I'll take another look thanks....ok. I just tested it and it seems to work ok. i do wish that I could have the avatar showup though.
