Question
Looking for examples of large Kunena forums
My site currently runs of SMF which tends to falter under high load on my server. I am looking to change my server soon which will give me more RAM and burstable CPU and RAM.
However I am considering moving to IP.Board but wouldn't mind having a fully integrated solution so that I do not have to hack it up so much.
I am wondering whether you could help me by providing me with some examples of your large forums.
My basic sites details are
270676 Posts in 19195 Topics by 2754 Members
In the off season, we have an average of about 70 users on line at the most and generally 30 at the same time on average. The site handles this fine.
In the sports season we blow way out and we will usually have 120+ people online at the same time, and anywhere up to 500 at the same time straight after a match. This chokes up my forums and the site crawls to a halt.
I am pretty sure that it isn't joomla doing this as most people just hit the forums and have had similar experiences with it in the past on other sites I worked with.
Whilst I really like IP.Board and know that load wise it is pretty light on with features I can turn off when under high load to help ease the pressure, the truth is that it is not an integrated forum solution and I will have to hack up the login to provide a dual login and user database. This isn't too hard but something I would rather not have to do. I don't like keeping a synched user database either for that matter.
Anyway so I was wondering whether anyone could tell me
1 - Their large Kunena site
2 - The loads they get and users online etc
3 - The server specs you are running under so that I can compare?
