The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

I have flawlessly migrated from another forum (Agora) and since upgraded to the latest K1.6.2.
Also remember this is "FREE"!
Maybe elaborate on what is so "difficult" and someone from the community could help you sort out any problems you may have.

I do not understand what you want. I update from 1.5 to 1.6 and i go crazy. After a month, i pdate to 1.6.1. Now to 1.6.2. It is free? Ok, but i don't want to change all every update...

kunena 1.5 was very easy. You can set every option...
kunena 1.6 has 8 template, many file.js script, etc. It'is beautifull, but an upgrade have not based on beauty.
Now I ask lighter updates... i don't want next month another updates and go crazy to resolve problems.. if there is a secure update, ok, but why change all? Can not change only some files?
ps: in other message i ask about some problems...

One of the biggest problems that faced most users of older versions of Kunena was that there were so many upgrades made in a very short space of time. In the first year that Kunena had been in existence, there were over 15 version releases made - the most important of these, of course, was the change made from K 1.0 to K 1.5 which allowed Kunena to be run under Joomla 1.5 without the legacy plugin enabled!
However, since K 1.6.0 was released 3 months ago, there have only been two maintenance releases in the K 1.6 series!
Admittedly, the changes involved with K 1.6 have been more substantial than those changes that occurred with previous versions of Kunena but, I think we will all agree, the changes have been incrementally superior.
One of the significant things that I learnt, very early in the game, after becoming a member here 2 years ago, was to change nothing! I mean, I've installed Kunena on a dozen websites but I have not changed the source code (except when experimenting) and I've basically kept to the standard package. Standard package = fewer problems. In fact, I could almost say that the standard package equals no problems (but that's probably going a little too far).
Everyone's experiences will be different. Some people will have no problems; other people will have seemingly insurmountable problems.
For me, I stick to the KISS principle . For me, I want to actually use Kunena, I want to enjoy creating discussion topics and replying to others who want to discuss things. If other people enjoy more the issues involved in designing their sites to be different, I say good luck to them and I wish them well. If you have problems, we will try to help - because that is what this community is all about: helping one another.
If you want to complain, we'll listen to your constructive criticisms, too.
I agree with the general comment. In a perfect world, software upgrades should be infrequent and they should be non-invasive. Sometimes these things are not possible ... for the greater good of the whole community.
