Question Kunena Forum Categories

To help make this a successful project I think component specific categories in forum should be created. For instance we know that JomSocial and CB are going to be hot topics. So lets create an Extensions main category then add all popular extension sub categories, this will keep everything organized, instead of having everything mixed up. So main category is something like:

EXTENSIONS > JomSocial >modules>plugins, CB >modules>plugins, XMAP, Seyret, SH404, 3rd party general, etc., etc...


That way each component etc. is organized with better quality control and the contributors are able to contribute 10x better.

Indeed, we wanted to keep the ofrum simple and clean at the start, and make it grow as needed, is not nice to have thousands of confusing and empty subforums

but you're right, I will now open a general 3rd party extensions forum, and we keep opening subforum as interest on these arise, jomsocial one could be already open

Althought all user contributions regarding kunena (not regarding other extensions to work with kunena) we prefer to have in "user contributions" forum, this doesn't mind, we cannot move there and leave a ghost message in extension forum

johnnydement, you are right so many different categories is a drain. Another idea would be a very simple downloads directory. Where all official and 3rd party modules, plugins, hacks are available... Home | Forum | Community | Directory or Downloads

On BOJ Fireboard forums it was a pain to figure where to download plugins and modules, even the component itself sometimes you wondered if you downloaded the right one! :laugh:

It's also hard to search and or look through all of the posts to find some awesome 3rd party contributions.
