I noticed that Kunena 1.6 use Moderate Topic button to replace the button of "Move Topic", "Merge Topic" and "Split Topic". I think this is a bad idea.

Most users had seen these Move, Merge and Split buttons on other popular forum programs, such as phpBB or SMF or VBB. In face, these buttons became a set style that everyone is accustomed to.

I also found that the single "Moderate Topic" button is too difficult to understand and use.

So, Hope you will discard this Moderate Topic button, and just use Move, Merge and Split buttons as most forum programs do.

Thanks.

Hello,

If this is asked by a lot of people we could set back the buttons Move Topic", "Merge Topic" and "Split Topic" with a configuration setting...

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

I think you also should consider of the user habit, most people are customed to the usual button set which uses Move, Merge and Split seperately.

Thanks.

This topic was originally posted in the K 1.6 Support category. There is nothing broken or defective in K 1.6 as far as this issue is concerned. I have moved this topic to the General Talk about Kunena category to allow other users to contribute their views on the topic.

Let us see what other people have to say.

As an admin and moderator I already have 7 buttons to choose from (reply, delete, sticky, lock, favourite, new topic, moderate topic). I think that's quite enough, thank you. No need for any more. Its not as if Move, merge and split are used many times every day. I like the current format.

I would also add that there is no logic to the statement "consider the habit of the user" unless there is good evidence those habits are the best one to have. Change is often a GOOD thing :-))

Kunena is leading the way here (as in many things). I'm sure the other forum products will follow and move their options to a single "Moderate" option eventually.
