I have moved this topic from where it was originally posted into the General Talk about Kunena category because this subject deals with the broader question of obtaining funds for the whole Kunena project, not just the part of the project involving the Kunena Discuss plugin.
Let me say, up front, a very big thank you to all of those people who have thought about donating to the project. I have been in contact with the leadership team and I know that they very much appreciate these kinds of discussions even if their daily schedule does not permit them as much time as they would like to say so.
I cannot speak on behalf of the leadership team but I would like to "set the scene" for their offical response later.
The Kunena project started as the brainchild of handful of people who wanted to make a difference: to take another project forward and to do it in a way the engaged the whole community of users. I know that it was this community engagement that influenced my decision to participate to the extent that I have done over the past eighteen months (or however long it's been).
When one looks at how much has been achieved because of the belief that we have that this project really has a future and when you consider that the product, itself, stands every bit as much against those things built by large corporations with bottomless pits of funding, Kunena is a truly remarkable achievement. But, K 1.6 is a significant breakthrough from what people may have been used to in the past and the redesigned architecture frees up the potential to do a lot more than most people would realise. As the project progress there will be even bigger things to come and, we have to be realistic, all these things come at some cost however you like to measure that cost.
Please stay tuned for a more official response from the leadership team.
Again, let me say, I am very pleased to see the strong willingness from all of you to contribute.

I'm saying that you should wait for an official response from the Kunena leadership team on this issue. I don't think I can state that any clearer than I already have.

As far as I know donating with Paypal is only possible if the Kunena team has a Paypal account on that email address. And since we don't know that for sure...mijalis wrote:
That's all you need! The email address...Haven't you ever heard of Paypal??postkat wrote: Neither can I, only the email address.
I did send an email but no answer yet.
