Question Don't forget your alias after upgrading

I thought I would just mention something that may help some of you if you are new to using this forum software. If you are thinking about upgrading to 1.6 from 1.5 then remember to match the alias from the old forum link to the new link. When you install or upgrade the new forum software it creates a default link in your main menu called "forum". It also automatically creates the alias which is also called "forum". If by chance you used a different alias before upgrading and you don't change it after upgrading to match the old alias than anyone finding pages from your forum on the search engines will just get a 404 error. This happened to me and it should have been obvious at first. Of course I started looking at more complicated reasons why this was happening until it was pointed out to me. So all I did was change the alias from "forum" to "Oscar-fish-advice-forum" and all the pages coming up on Google now direct straight to my website.

I had this slight glitch over a couple of days which you can see by looking at my statistics. If you look at yesterday you can see the dramatic increase in the hits after I amended my alias.
