Just another boring academic/theoretical discussion. :)

I read sozzled's explanation of Thank-you button and I was wondering...
...is it the same as (or similar to) "I like it" button on Facebook?

Almost all users of my website (currently running K1.5.12) are avid users of Facebook too, therefore I thought that giving them same functions as Facebooks would make them feel more "at home".
My initial idea was customizing the IT_it language file in my Kunena installation to display "Mi piace" ("I like it") rather than "Grazie" ("Thank you").

So, technically speaking, do "I like it" and "Thank you" work in the same way or are they different?
Thanks in advance for all of your thoughts. :)

Unlimited congratulations to the dev team for their great work. :)

"THANK YOU" == THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
"THANK YOU" == I LIKE THIS SOLUTION

I THINK NOTHING TO DO WITH FB "I LIKE"
"I LIKE" ITS FOR SONGS PHOTOS

Well, it depend of content of your forum and for what purpose you are using Kunena. If you show fhoto, video or somthing similar and you rename buton to "I like it" we can say that function is the same.

If you use Kunena for support your customer, well in that case etusha is right.

yeah i would prob keep it as Thank You as the facebook Like button can easily be put into your joomla site with lots of plugins now on the JED. so best to keep them separate and not confuse users would be my thinking, although its up to you how you want to have the language strings on your site :)

still wish that i can write my forum signature through a jomsocial plugin and do it from my jomsocial profile :(
