Question Create a "wall" with Kunena

Create a "wall" with Kunena was created by greener
Hi All,
so this is what I am trying to do. Possible with Kunena? if not please let me know of another solution within Joomla...
I manage a school website and we have a different "home page" for each class. So this home page has calendars, photos and news specific to that class. I want to build a very simple "wall like" feature where any of the registered members can post to the "wall" (to use a facebook term).
If you really break it down it is a simple one thread forum? I think. At first I thought this could be done with the latest post module but it does not have a way to post new messages - just show latest messages entered in the larger forum.
And not to be "greedy" here but I'd like to be able to subscribe all members by default so everyone get's an email or digest of the posts.
possible? thanks for any advice.

G'day, greener and thanks for your question.
Let me deal with your off-topic question first - let's get it out of the way and never refer to it again in this discussion, OK?

I'm one of those "dinosaurs" who does not use Facebook, who distrusts Facebook and who isn't familiar with any of the Facebook terminology. So, thank you for explaining what you mean by "wall" post. A one-topic "forum" (for want of a better word), basically.
If your intention is to only permit posting replies into one topic or thread then I'm sorry to disappoint you. You can't do that in Kunena. You cannot restrict users' ability to create new topics in any category that you allow them to post into. This, actually, is contrary to the principle upon which all discussion forums are based. In other words, discussion forums are for people to discuss topics of interest, not just one topic.
However, what you can do is create a topic called "The great big wall post" and encourage people to post into that. I have a website where I have a "Daily sign-in thread": this doesn't mean that I expect my users record the fact that they've logged onto the website every day but it gives them a focal point where they can jot down their little musings on "everyday life", if they want to.
So, in the sense that I've described it, you can have "wall" posts in Kunena. Create a topic and give it an appropriate subject that will encourage your users to use it like a "wall". Simple, really.

thank you sozzled...
I have no issue with users posting new threads, I just wanted more of a "quick post" within a module on a "article blog layout" page versus going to a forum page with all the other topics and user profiles and other standard Kunena "bells and whistles". I might be thinking in my mind of a simple guest book. But maybe we will send them to the forum to post and just have the latest posts show using the "latest post module."
cheers and thanks again...

never used it but a quick search on JED found this component.
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/communication/pms/10581
is a Simple Comment Wall (like Facebook) for joomla 1.5 with Jomsocial * Attached video links * Attached pictures * Search Users box * Lightbox for viewing images * Lightbox for viewing videos * Private Message "PM" * "Like" and...
try that or there is a version that intergrates with jomsocial too
---- THE KUNENA TEAM DO NOT ENDORSE ANY 3RD PARTY EXTENTIONS FOR JOOMLA ----
