If I understand your question correctly (I've made a few minor edits to what you wrote to bring out the key points), you want to build a website that allows you to create content but doesn't allow your site visitors the ability to navigate to different parts of the site; further, the site content should automatically change at selected time intervals. Is that correct?
The short answer to your question is that, no, I don't think a
Kunena forum would achieve half of what you want because you only want to
display content and not give your users any ability to select different parts of it or navigate elsewhere;
Kunena is unsuited as an "electronic signpost".
As a
technology medium, the internet is probably a good way to handle the content management issues. In other words, you can update, from
anywhere, the data that will be displayed on your electronic message board. However, in terms of extracting and displaying that data, I'm not even sure if Joomla is a viable solution. There may be Joomla extensions that deliver what you want, but you may also have to write your own. Almost certainly this problem has been tackled elsewhere. Good luck!
