Question Forum with social image gallery

I am trying to build a site with both forum and image gallery functions and wandered if Kunena will fit the bill. I will need:

- design/architecture based forum/gallery
- Potentially 1000s of registered users
- User posts images, and registered users can comment/discuss/answer questions about the images. It must be as interactive as possible
- latest comments feed down the right hand side of the page (facebook style), inviting users to join the discussions
- users save their favourite images designs in an idea box (somthing like a light box)

Does kunena allow this?

Kunena is, first and foremost, a web-based discussion forum component for Joomla. There are other Joomla extensions you can use with Kunena that handle image galleries (places where your users can upload and store images on your site that they can use in the forum). Kunena is not really a tool that allows you to manage images, or "discuss" or comment on them or put them into different categories (like JoomGallery does, for example). But, yes, you can upload images with Kunena and use them in several different topics or posts.
