Question Why integrate Kunena with Jomsocial?

The main reason why we haven't done all the features by ourself is that they take both time and money as sozzled said.

It doesn't help if we're going to sell these features as the initial investment to make that to happen is something like 100 000€ and 18 months of working time (split to more than one coder). Nobody has this kind of money and nobody has the time to do it for free -- we all need to pay our living.

Another point of view is that do we want to make the best forum or do we like to make weaker forum with more social features. The road we are going to take is probably in somewhere between and some of that stuff isn't going to be free. But before we can make any of that, we need to get Kunena 2.0 out. :)

I like the fact that Kunena is dedicated to a forum and forum only comp. I have seen other Joomla forum projects that have tried to go the social route and they self imploded. IMHO I would say stick with what makes K so great!

We do need some basic social features in the future, but you're right: If we'd try to do everything at once, we would need much more resources even to support the product itself.

additional modules or plugins in Kunena will be great, for example : in a photo forum, members like to have their own mini gallery with a link visit my gallery

is there any big new version of Kunena for Joomla 2.5 ? I have to migrate a phpbb forum to Kunena but I prefer to wait if necessary

thanks to the team
