Question Kunena fills db with unnecessary data

I noticed that kunena stores for every post a lot of unnecessary data.
Why is the e-mail of registered users stored with every post?
Why is the ip address stored? Why do you wanna store something else
then the message text?

Can't storing extra data be set by check box in the kunena admin panel?

Thanks in advance,

Groenteman

There's some extra information that is saved in the case if user gets deleted.

IP address is stored to help administrators to find out users who use many different logins to make his main user to look better. It can also be used for other means, for example for spam prevention (IP ban etc).

All that extra data takes maybe 50 bytes of space, so why would you like to get rid of it? For million posts that is only 50k of extra disk space.

Thanks for the reply Matias.

I only wonder why for example every time a member posts its e-mail address is stored.
Also the IP-address but to identify users the user id is used. Maybe make it optional
or 1 extra table with that data.

Just thinking to make Kunena better.

Actually Kunena 2.0 doesn't fill this information anymore, but that means it needs to listen for user events and store the data when user gets deleted.
