Question K 1.6 sh404SEF stops Thank You, RSS feeds, PDF and message previews

This is now going off-topic from the original question that had something to do with the Kunena thank you feature not working.

From my limited (15 year) working knowledge of the internet, I don't understand the perception that sh404SEF somehow directs traffic to a user's website. What directs traffic to most websites are the search engines like Google or other referral sites.

Let us say, for example, that you had a list in one of these sites that took the form

www.example.xxx/folder-1/component/function,1/0/72/page.html

And yeah, that's a really "ugly" looking URL isn't it? But you get 50,000 page hits per day and who cares, right? Then, along comes some magical "SEF URL maker" and you have the ability to change things to

www.example.xxx/folder-1/component/this-does-something.html

But something happens - something breaks - and you have good reason to be concerned about those 50,000 page hits per day going off into internet limbo. You can fix that by using URL redirection (don't ask me to give the details) but this is something that a professionally-skilled web developer should be able to do for you. You can also pay the search engine and referral sites money to get them to feature your site with any new URLs that you're now "forced" to use.

As I said, the discussion is now going off-topic. We're now talking about the value of sh404SEF to you. I accept that it's of value to you. I don't accept that it's the only option. I don't know, use or understand sh404SEF. I'm not the person to advise you about the specifics of that product. I'm just attempting to clarify the issues so that you can see what you need to do. I hope that I've been able to help in a small way.

One week ago I started a thread which discussed some sh404sef-related problems like Thank you -button or rss - feed not working. But this problem I think is not sh404sef - related, the preview window only contains a blank screen, you will see it in the attached image.

You need to disable each module and plugins one by one and test each time kunena, to see which thing causing the issue.

@xillibit: My site is online, and thousands of users a day visit us. So I setup a copy of my installation and database in a subdomain and tested it. And - i am really sad about this, its sh404sef again. :evil: This problem is also caused by this component. Disabling sh404sef solves all problems. Thank you button, RSS-Feed, Blank preview window and also creating pdf does not work with sh404sef enabled. I did not believe it, because I could not understand the context between blank page in editor with url rewriting.

But it is definitly so.
@sozzled: You see, I am still using it. I told you in the former thread why. You told me some arguments which made me thought provoking.

I dont know if it is allowed to post links to other forums here. Maybe it is interesting for someone who has the same or similar problems. If not - remove it.

They promised to fix it in the next release. So i am still waiting. And if this bugs are not fixed in the next release of sh404sef i will have to uninstall it. But this causes other troubles, our special topics in the forum are dsl-related troubles and problems, and our site is linked from many other sites using the sef-urls, sozzled, I told you this.

But Im sorry, that I had a wrong idea, I mentioned that this is not a sef-problem. But it is.

Today, the guys of anything digital released a new version of sh404sef, 2.1.7 - and they solved all problems with kunena I have mentioned.

RSS-Feed - working fine
PDF-generating - working fine
and
Preview Window - working fine.
