Kunena 7.0.9 & Kunena 6.4.14 – Security Updates Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.9 [K 7.0.9] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.
This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.
The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

Question: Why do you run sh404SEF for Kunena?
The Joomla 1.5 core SEF has been optimized for Kunena. That would solve your problem.
There might be other reasons for why you run a 3rd party SEF, but generally speaking it comes at a cost.

Unfortunately that is inside the sh404sef code.
Have your tried disabling sh404SEF just for Kunena and use the Joomla SEF for kunena?
Sorry if I can't be of much more help.
My personal opinion: Just a final word of caution on 3rd party SEF plugins. Some of them will use up tons of memory and php cpu once you get beyond 20-30k threads. They are great for more static Joomla sites, but the number of unique urls from an active forum that some of them try to cache will exceed 64MB and more, which are loaded from a php cache file on every page view. In the early days of Kunena 1.0/1.5 we too ran one of these and ultimately turned it off due to the performance implications. That is why we wrote a really good SEF router for Joomla 1.5 core. Now that was 1 year back, things might have improved, just watch out for your server load. Ours went from 85% busy (with 3rd party SEF) down to 10% (with Joomla core SEF) with the same traffic.

Time to create page: 5.02 seconds
It should be 1/10 of that or faster. I would not be surprised that without the 3rd party sef solution your pages would render significantly faster.

I'm agree with fxstein.
I have some experience from my trial and error on k1.6 with sh404sef.
When I name on kunena menu link with "forum"
All Credit link (powered by) in every categories and the top level categories are always rewrite to root/forum/!!
Yes. there are a lot of duplicate urls with root/forum/
From above problem.. I can solved them by custom redirect with sh404sef, but ...If you have a lot of categries,>>> You also custom all duplicate urls again and again!!!:pinch:
