Kunena 7.0.9 & Kunena 6.4.14 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.9 [K 7.0.9] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

Hello everyone, I was wondering what I would need exactly to have a Forum and Community feature on my Joomla website similar to how this website is set up?

Is both the Forum and Community packaged together? Are they seperate? Any information on this subject will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The technical requirements for Kunena given in Technical Requirements . We will soon be changing the home page of this website to make it easier for users to obtain the latest download information. In the meantime, please visit joomlacode.org/gf/project/kunena/frs/ and select the latest K 1.5.x installation kit.

Kunena is distributed free-of-charge under the GNU GPL licensing convention.

The community component, and its features used on this website, is the proprietary software of JomSocial and is distributed under the terms described at their website .

Thanks sozzled for the info.

I got both Kunena and JomSocial running on my site. How would I go about linking the Kunena user to the JomSocial profile like how you guys have here?

I just want when someone clicks on the forum users name instead of taking them to their forum profile it just takes them to their JomSocial profile. Same goes for resgistering and logging in to the website and community. I just want users to have one universal login instead of one for JomSocial and one for Kunena.


Any suggestions or points in the right direction?

You have, more-or-less, answered your own question. The answer is wrapped up with one Kunena setting: Integration » Profile Settings » Profile = JomSocial

Hey lads...

I have a social site,users are from different countries.

My question is the next:

Is there any chance to put the user's location to the kunena profilbox?( if he added this at the registration)

Never seen it before,but hope its possible.

If you do a bit of hacking, you can do what you want. Look the file components\com_kunena\template\default\plugins\profilebox\profilebox.php
