Question [SOLVED] How do you change your forum avatar?

You started this discussion in the Community Builder category. I don't think it belongs in this category. It looks to me that it's a Kunena problem that was introduced in version 1.5.3. Are you ready to call this a Kunena defect? What happens if you make Integration » Profile Settings » Profile = Kunena?

it works. when integration is set to kunena for the profile and for the avatar it works.

however when integration is set to..
Profile Settings >> Profile >> Community Builder << THIS DOES NOT WORK for avatar upload..

given that, in my opinion this may be considered a cb topic, thus it belongs to this category.

anyone one else who shared the same configuration i used above? i'd appreciate if you can share some inputs on this. thank you.

K1.5.4 is already out but until now i can't i still can;t change the forum avatar..

this is my setup.
Integration >> Avatar Integration >> Use avatar picture from >> Kunena
Integration >> Profile Settings >> Profile >> Community Builder

Sorry, but this setup won't work. You must understand the function of CB integration. If you choose CB for profiles, then Kunena picks your CB avatar as forum avatar. You can't edit Kunena profiles to change forum avatar, because you chosed CB as profile.

You should post this as feature request: different avatars for CB and Kunena, but link the forum avatar to CB profile.

thank your for sharing the idea.. however way back when i was still using K1.09, i can confirm to you that i can change the avatar given that setup above. it is made possible by assigning a menu to call "forum?func=uploadavatar"

but now after i upgraded to K1.5 and also to cb1.2.1 i could no longer call the uploadavatar function.. it will just reload the forum..

Well, I'm thoroughly confuzzled! :S I can understand why you might want to integrate your user profile settings from Community Builder, but why not go the whole way and use the CB avatars, too? It seems to me that

(1) These settings work:
Integration » Avatar Integration » Use avatar picture from = Kunena
Integration » Profile Settings » Profile = Kunena

(2) These settings work:
Integration » Avatar Integration » Use avatar picture from = Community Builder
Integration » Profile Settings » Profile = Kunena

(3) These settings work:
Integration » Avatar Integration » Use avatar picture from = Community Builder
Integration » Profile Settings » Profile = Community Builder

(4) These settings do not work:
Integration » Avatar Integration » Use avatar picture from = Kunena
Integration » Profile Settings » Profile = Community Builder

And that's just the way it is.

(4) may have worked back in the bad old days when Community Builder 1.2 was around but CB failed to co-operate with Kunena unless you hacked into the product. I think the fact that you had things working the way they did was more good luck than good management. :laugh:
