Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

Question two login problems

My site:
www.bullspodcasters.com runs kunena forum.

I also use signal login module for login instead of the standard login, because it more easily allows a horizontal login bar.

Anyway, when I go to my site, I bookmark this page:
www.bullspodcasters.com/index.php?option...func=showcat&catid=5

That page takes me to the only forum people post to.

I have seen two login issues, both are not huge deals, but pretty aggravating.

ISSUE #1:
When my session expires overnight and I log in the next day, joomla logs me in automatically (via cookie I suppose), but kunena brings up the profile box saying I'm not logged in.

If I click the kunena login button it takes me to the joomla login page saying I'm already logged in, and then when I go back to kunena it shows me as being logged in (I never actually have to login).

ISSUE #2:
When I'm logged out, if I try to login from using the horizontal login bar, and hit submit from the forum page, it just goes to a blank page and never logs me in. If I go back to the home page and do it, then it works just fine. This has caused some users to constantly question why login isn't working.

I'm not sure if these issues are related to signal login vs traditional login or if they're related to kunena in particular.

#1 login issue is related to joomla 1.5, seems is agravated with legacy extensions. Basically, joomla knows you're logged, but kunena doesn't, if you follow any link once in kunena, it should appear as loggued...
Happens specially if going to the forums via a favorite link.
It doesn't seem to be happening in K!1.5.0a

#2 no idea, happens also with default login?

Thanks for the note about #1. It's not a big deal. I do always go to my forums via favorite, so that's probably the primary problem. Given that it's not a killer, I can wait until 1.5 goes production quality for it to be fixed.

#2 I solved myself. I think it may have been related to the way I linked to kunena as an external url, since I wanted a link on my forum to directly inside a category rather than a link to the categories home page or recent discussions. I'm not sure, but the action on the form from the login module was index.php?itemid=66 and I changed it so that it always just uses index.php instead and that seems to do the trick.
