Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.
The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.
This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised user contributions, (templates, modules, plugins and hacks) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.
This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.
The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, these ideas in these topics will not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

As you know, of course, Fireboard is dead and the old Fireboard-style templates died with it a long time ago. Since Kunena emerged as one of the premier native extensions for Joomla 1.5 - and, going forward, this reputation will only be further enhanced in Joomla 1.6 - those old Fireboard templates have been displaced by others.
The URL-driven, "template chooser" you referred to in your original message (before you deleted it) no longer works in the way you've described but the ability to select a Kunena template does operates in the same basic way that always existed in Fireboard as a configuration setting in the backend. Nothing has changed in this respect to remove that functionality. The main thing that has changed with Kunena is the removal of clunky, defective and non-secure code that was present in Fireboard. You have just given an example of one of those non-secured features.
From K 1.5.7, current installation kits do not install the old Fireboard templates. At the present time, there is only one endorsed and supported Kunena template ... default_ex . Other templates may be created, added to and selected for use in users' Kunena websites.
