Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised user contributions, (templates, modules, plugins and hacks) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, these ideas in these topics will not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

Ok, first things first CREDIT: www.joomlahackers.net/joomla-tutorials/m...smart-optimizer.html

The original author is listed at the link above and I am in no way affiliated with them but as a WebMaster/Developer/Designer running my own sites I experience a TON of lag because of Javascript files and CSS loading, page after page after page... its just flat out annoying. So, the last few nights I have been searching the web looking for the most optimal solution for my problem and granit, there are probably 50 ways to go about optimizing for CSS and JS this one has been suitable for the time being.

This is example information pulled from my site:
Comprofiler Webpage:

  • This page has 26 external JavaScript files.
This page has 17 external StyleSheets.
This page has 21 CSS background images.

  • Memory Usage: 29431184
    Database Queries: 148 queries logged

My load times on this single page were between 30 - 45 Seconds depending on my server and how many other websites where being hit at the same time (Shared Hosting)

Now, after having installed Smart Optimizer and using it for a few days (3) I am seeing dramatic improvements of load times between 9 - 15 Seconds.

My suggestion is that you invest 10 minutes of time to read the brief article, and possibly try it out yourself.

    Thanks,
    James

I have been running this Script now for approximately 2-1/2 Months and over that time period I noticed a performance increase from 10%Gains at minimal and often times 50 - 75% Gains.

I highly recommend giving this a try.
