Hi

I searched the forum but could not find an answer to my problem. Therefore I am creating a new post.
I achieved to make kunena discuss work indeed. If I select "create topics on first visit", it properly creates forum topics in the default category I choose. I can also see the posts and quick reply on the blog views for my categories. But when I click on an article, it does not show anything related to kunena discuss in the article view.

This is the debug result:
[KunenaDiscuss debug: Created #__kunenadiscuss cross reference table. ]
[KunenaDiscuss debug: Constructor called in com_content ]
[KunenaDiscuss debug: onPrepareContent.Allow: Category 5 is using default Kunena category 3 ]
[KunenaDiscuss debug: onPrepareContent: Article 422 ]
[KunenaDiscuss debug: onPrepareContent: Custom Topics disabled ]
[KunenaDiscuss debug: showPlugin: Rendering discussion ]
[KunenaDiscuss debug: onAfterDisplayContent: Returning content for article 422 ]

I noticed that when I enable kunena discuss, a space equal to an empty line is created before the article header.

So far I've tried the following:
- Reinstalling kunena & discuss = fail
- Reinstalling kunena & discuss , also deleting all db tables and leftover files = fail
- Creating a new joomla 1.5 installation on a different place with similar template and extensions, installing the same version of kunena & discuss = success on that site
- Disabling all non-standard plugins = fail
- Reviewing source code = I can see discuss.css loaded but nothing else related to kunena discuss.
- Trying other browsers, disabling adblocking extensions = nope it is not browser related.
- Trying different kunena discuss settings = fail, I believe my settings are correct because it works flawlessly in blog view.
- Trying the fixed versions on "the number thingy" post = did not help at all

I have two different plugins working in similar to kunena discuss (adding its own content to article). One is "ITP social buttons" and it works without a problem. The other is "CB author profile" and its condition is exactly the same as kunena discuss. It works in the blog view but not in the article view.

Maybe this is related to a setting or a file specific to my site. I could not be sure, thats why I am asking to you. Do you guys have any idea that might help me?

Best regards

I think I got it.

Yootheme's yoo_nano breaks kunena discuss.

It appears like my previous experience was wrong.

To understand, I replicated my site and uninstalled extensions one-by-one. After I uninstalled everything, I change the theme and it started to work I wish I had started from the end.

I also confirmed that kunena discuss works when I change the theme on my original site. This problem is only related to yoo_nano at the moment. There is no problem with other yoo themes.

Thanks for your time.

To be able to fix your issue in the future, what happens in different way if you change template?

This might also be related to caching.

As I am still developing the site, I do not use cache at all. And my browser cache is automatically cleared everytime I close them (firefox, chrome, opera)

I did not have time to thoroughly inspect the template code to understand what is wrong with it.

Based on my trials, I can confirm that it is not related with the module positions I use. Kunena discuss does not work with or without modules in the bottom block.

The only difference between the two templates I tried were:
- You can add google anlytics code into yoo_nano. But this should not have any effect as the problem persists without analytics code.
- Yoo_nano has (I guess) jquery integrated
- Yoo_nano is build on warp6 (yootheme) framework, other themes were standard joomla templates or older yoo theme templates (warp 5.x.x)

Since cb author profile addon has the same problem with kunena discuss, I think it is related with the template, not with the addon. But there should be a way to overcome similar situations as some similar addons (ITP social buttons) continue to work.

I will let you know once I have a chance to review the template code and the source code. It is weird not to see the kunena discuss code in the html source. Something in the template/warp code prevents the addon from rendering.

I could not find a solution. ,
But the problem seems completely template related, hence we can close this thread.
